DWTS - “FINALS!!!!!!!!!”
Where to start? How about, OMG OMG OMG OMG!!!!!! i cannot believe we did it. That last week going into finals was killer. We had struggled to get in rehearsal time with everything that needed to get done for the show so i still can’t believe we got it all done and pulled it off. So many things have happened since then it’s hard to remember back to all of the feelings that i was having. Let me start off with what an honor it was to be in the finals with Melissa & Tony and Cheryl & Gilles, they are all such great people and good friends. Then, i want to thank all of the fans that voted for Mark and I, they carried us through week after week after week and i love you all for helping me through all of this. I know i worked hard and learned alot but i also know that the votes are what got me through. Thank you thank you thank you, you are the best. Then just let me say that i had the greatest dance partner ever. Mark taught me so much and helped me so much from the very beginning to the very end. I hope we stay friends for life. Being on the show and getting to know everyone has been one of the best experiences of my life. I already miss it and i’m so sad that it’s over….
The dances ~ The Paso dance off was scary. Getting through one Paso was hard enough, then having to do it again competing with two great couples was crazy. It was a tough week to have to do one of the hardest dances there is again. But we did it and i’m so proud. Then the “freestyle” OMG my favorite dance ever. Everyone was telling us that the masks and stuff were too extreme and it was too big of a risk in the finals, but Mark kept saying that he knew it would work and WOW did it ever work. It was the perfect dance to end with cause we had so much fun dancing it and knew we gave it our all. It was so scary when i almost didn’t get my costume torn off in time to do my jump from the stage, i was freaking out inside. I think we both had so much adrenaline going that nothing was going to stop us from getting it done. I really hope everyone enjoyed watching our freestyle as much as we enjoyed doing it. It was the prefect way to end it for us. Re-doing the Cha-Cha was soooo fun. I really had fun with it the first time around then getting to re-do it and having more confidence with it was the best. The crowd and the judges really seemed to like it and since it was one of Mark and i’s favorite we had a blast with it.
THE END ~ Getting down to the final two and standing out there waiting to find out who won was one of the greatest feelings i’ve ever had. I think Mark and i both about fainted when they called our names. Don’t get me wrong, we both wanted to win so bad but you just never know and you get yourself so ready to hear the other persons name that when they called our names we were just so thrilled and shocked. It was the most amazing feeling. Having that mirror ball handed to us was the most perfect ending. I’m still in shock :-)….
Off to New York ~ Immediately after the show, all six of us got on a private plane and headed straight for New York. We celebrated and talked and then slept then when we arrived in New York had to do the Good Morning America show and then the talk show and media rounds. By the time we were done we were all exhausted. It tore my heart out when we all had to separate and go our different ways. I’m going to miss everyone so bad. Thank God for cell phones, texting, twitter and skype :-). I flew from there to Charlotte NC for the Coca-Cola 600 Nascar race. Kyle Petty took me for a ride on the track and got up to 170 mph. That was crazy fun. When we were done i did a backflip off of the car and then i got to teach Kyle some dance moves. BTW we both twittered from inside the racecar. He’s so funny. He like twitters constantly.
